Thank you for sharing this post here! I think about it a lot and in fact was just telling an IRL friend about it the other day.

I especially like your point about all the big decisions teenagers are expected to make, and how surely choosing to be king one day is a bigger choice than choosing not to be.

I so hope the show continues wrestling with this question of radical quitting, and I think it will. And then I hope someone writes a fic about the aftermath of that decision!
